MY COMPUTER-OBSOLETE- SPECS:
Have you ever tried island hopping in a small leaking boat with only one oar and a sail the size of a handkerchief? Just to give you an idea what I felt when a recent visit to the computer shop learnt me how hopelessly obsolete my pc really is. Even my everlasting lack
of IT technology couldn't soften the pain that hit me in the face. Till then I reckoned it was possible to keep what I got, do some repairs and go on with the global flow. But the under current that rocks my boat gets me away from, instead of closer to my destiny: a well running system. I used to have dreams of laptops, because I'm on the move many hours. But I'm afraid I'll be seeing many a hard wind before I can have one.*wink* :P

Gee Glorie -- you need some RAM bad! I think if you just beefed that up you would see lots more life in the old gal.
Will your current hardware allow you to add more? RAM is fairly inexpensive as computer stuff goes.
Computers including laptops have come way down in price, but don't get one with less than 2GB of ram in it.

Your PC specs are pretty good for day to day basic computing.
But I suggest getting more RAM. Its fairly cheap now.
The minimum "recommended" for Windows XP is 512mb while the "sweet spot" is 1GB.
Aww.... well, if you can, put a laptop on your Christmas list!
It really is the way to go.
I started out with PCs, but now I'm a laptop girl. No turning back.
I hope you are able to upgrade to a newer system soon! :)
just put more RAM and you'll be fine for now.
I'll echo the RAM comments put as much as the system will allow. Crucial.com has an online configurator that will tell you want you can have/need. Then purchase there or shop around with the specs.
margaret: i think i need more ram! i dont know if it will allow more,i'll ask my technician..thanks!:)
